Question:What is the biblical support for The Spirit Lives Ministries?
Answer: As Christians, our goal (individually and collectively) is to bring glory to God. Unquestionably, the biggest obstacle that we face in this quest is Satan. Does the Bible tell us how Satan is [to be] overcome? Yes!
Revelation 12:11 says that Satan is defeated in two ways: 1) by the Blood of the Lamb, which Jesus took care of on the cross, and 2) by the word of their testimony, this is the responsibility of each Christian to use the testimony God gave you for His Glory.
Question:What is the purpose of this website?
Answer: Our purpose is to bring glory to God through the testimony of EVERY Christian! The Spirit Lives is asking for EVERY Christian testimony; giving all Christians the opportunity to be prepared as charged in 1 Peter 3:15(b) which states "Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,"
Question:How will the testimonies be used?
Answer: I can't possibly fathom all the possible uses that God will have for these testimonies. But I can share with you some of the ways that he has already used them.
Randy's testimony shares how he relied completely on God, and saved his marriage from certain divorce. Subsequently, more than one person has told me they forwarded Randy's testimony to a friend who was facing divorce.
One pastor told me that he uses the testimonies as source material for sermons.
Five of these testimonies (Robert, Mary, Phil, Jay and MaryAnn) were selected to use in a New Hope Mission church service, and roughly 70 homeless men and women took the testimonies with them.
Question:How long has this website been live?
Answer: Construction began on the website around mid-2002, testimonies began to go on the site in the latter part of 2002
Question:Who do you take testimonies from?
Answer:. We take testimonies from every Christian, however, we prefer to get testimonies in to our website and newsletter from trusted sources (e.g. - folks we know, folks who know folks we know, credible evangelical churches, etc). Currently, we are working on campaigns at local churches to set up a testimony drive. This is done by implementing 2 projects: 1) Have each Sunday School class start off with a 2 minute verbal testimony 2) Have each Christian submit their testimony in writing for inclusion on this site and in the newsletter (testimonies are being hung on the walls of one church).
Question:How do you spread the word about your website?
Answer: People find out about The Spirit Lives website via the newsletter, word of mouth and T-shirts with the logo and scriptures.
