My name is Larry. I was born in and raised in rural West Tennessee. I became a member of the church at the age of 10.
I had been pretty blase about my faith until I got sick. I had been struggling with depression and anxiety for approximately 30 years. I got much worse about 18 months ago. Very depressed and suicidal. I am on disability from my work and from Social Security.
About 12 months ago I was sitting in my den one day and all of a sudden I realized that I needed God in my life if I was going to be able to cope with my illness. I started going to church every time the doors are opened. I am volunteering for work such as a local soup kitchen and Meals On Wheels. I have a peace and serenity that I have never known in my life.
I enjoy church and being with other Christians. I still have my disability but God is helping me cope. I want to serve God by being a servant to others. Our God is indeed an awesome and powerful God. Thanks for letting me share my testimonial. Larry |
